My name is Kelan Carrigan and I am an artist. It feels weird to say that because I didn’t create my first painting until I was 37 years old. I’ve always enjoyed drawing (pencil sketches mainly) and I took art classes up through high school, but I never pursued it after that. Instead, I joined the U.S. Navy at 18 years old. I served as a Machinist Mate in the nuclear power plant on board the USS Dwight D Eisenhower. After 6 years in the Navy, I decided to stay in the power generation industry and am now an operator at a solar power plant in Nevada.
